AIMS
Bicton Environmental Action Group Inc BEAGTo protect and enhance the natural environment of the Bicton Foreshore from the Bicton Baths through to Point Walter by:

a) cooperating with local bodies, the community and State Planning and Management Authorities to develop and monitor the Bicton Foreshore and Point Walter for the benefit of all users of the public open space and Reserves

b) providing for the protection and accommodation of local fauna and bird life

c) managing invasive flora and encourage appropriate species, selected to protect and enhance the area without restricting the unique river and associated views.

Removal of shell bed at Bicton Baths


Working parties meet on a Saturday morning at 8.00am as designated below

14 June: Weed jute matting on foreshore. Meet at Kent St car park
28 June: Planting. Meet at Kent St car park
26 July Weeding Meet at Kent St car park
9 August Weeding Meet at first car park on Pt Walter Rd
30 August Foreshore clean up along Blackwall Reach Pde. Meet at Bicton Baths or Kent St
13 September Weed jute matting on foreshore
11 October Foreshore cleanup at point Walter. Meet at Car park near Pt Walter sand bar
15 November Shell bed clean up. Bicton Baths

3. Help with foreshore cleanup duties about twice a year.

4. Be aware of what is happening in our locality and alerting BEAG and the Melville City Council to areas which need attention.

FUNDING
The work so far has been funded through state and local government support with some community sponsorship.
