Julie RobertJulie Robert - Chief Executive Officer
Julie is the CEO for the south region. Her main roles include staff & business management at SERCUL and the coordination/ implementation of NRM in the south region.

Julie liaises with Local Govt., State Agencies, politicians, community environment groups and the corporate business world to encourage and promote the opportunistic integration of NRM into as many planning and decision-making processes as is possible. She provides technical support to the staff and oversees the delivery of the strategic projects developed within the Swan Regional Strategy and the Healthy Rivers Program. Sandy WainwrightSandy Wainwright - Financial Administration Manager
Sandy is responsible for the management of SERCUL’s financial records.  She assists with the administration and everyday running of the SERCUL office.

Employed 7 days a fortnight Sandy also assists other environmental groups in the South area, including the Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group, with their financial management.  She is also a volunteer member of the Two Rivers Catchment Group and the Bannister Creek Catchment Group.

 

Amy KrupaAmy Krupa - Education and Promotion Manager
Amy coordinates the Phosphorus Awareness Project and Fertilise Wise Fertiliser Training and oversees the other education and promotion projects that SERCUL run.  Amy targets the general community, schools, community groups, local government and key high nutrient use industries, such as nurseries.

This is achieved through school visits, community presentations, turf manager training, planting days, community field days and fairs, industry field days, provision of information to target industries, displays in community areas such as libraries and community and local government and community surveys.

 

Ana TerrazasAna Terrazas - Urban Waterways Renewal (UWR) Manager
Ana’s main role is to coordinate the implementation of the Urban Waterway Renewal Program.  The program consists of eleven projects that focus on the conversion of existing urban drainage lines into living streams by improving water retention and infiltration capabilities of drains and compensation basins. She manages the program budget and facilitates the reporting and monitoring of the program.

Ana also liaises with the Department of Water, Swan River Trust and the Cities of Armadale, Gosnells and Canning to implement the UWR program and to encourage community and industry to undertake on-ground works and involvement in stormwater activities and education.

 

Brett KuhlmannBrett Kuhlmann - Landcare Services Manager
Brett is the manager of SERCUL’s Landcare program which includes the DNIP project officer role and management of the Bannister Creek and Bickley Brook Urban Waterway Renewal projects. The role of Landcare Services Manager involves the development of SERCUL’s landcare staff and support for onground projects by the staff and community.  The current DNIP sites include Liege St, Wharf St and Anvil Way.





Monica EstradaMonica Estrada - Water Quality Management Officer & Volunteer Coordinator
Monica’s main roles are to coordinate the implementation of the Water Quality Partnership project and coordinate SERCUL volunteers.

The water quality project aims to promote a cooperative approach to water quality monitoring (WQM) across the Perth Region. SERCUL’s main role, in conjunction with the Aquatic Sciences Branch of the Department of Water, is to assist stakeholders, including local governments, to assess their water quality data requirements, provide assistance in the preparation of sampling and analysis plans, undertake sampling and write annual reports.   

The volunteer coordination program aims to develop and implement a volunteer management system for SERCUL that could also be a frame for community groups.

Monica also liaises with the Swan River Trust, Department of Water and the Cities of Melville, Bayswater, Belmont, South Perth and Swan to implement the water quality monitoring program and to encourage local governments to engage in the program and implement on-ground works oriented to improve the water quality in the waterways.

 


Melinda SnowballMelinda Snowball - Promotions and Administration Officer
Melinda assists SERCUL with the development and publication of promotional material used for the Phosphorus Awareness Project, Freshwater Fauna Project and other SERCUL education and promotions projects.


 

 

Tracy EvansTracy Evans - Landcare Officer
Tracy's main role is to support the SERCUL staff in their endeavors to undertake restoration work on the Swan and Canning rivers and their tributaries. This has included assisting with the implementation of the landscaping of the Western Power Sub-station and also the restoration of the waterways around the landcare centre in Beckenham. Tracy is also currently completing a Conservation and Land Management certificate at Tafe.

 

Glen ByleveldGlen Byleveld - Urban Waterways Renewal Officer
Southern River
Glen manages the Urban Waterways Renewal program in Southern River. This project involves modification to storm water infrastructure at six sites within the City of Armadale to improve water quality, natural diversity and the visual amenity of these public assets. Examples of change to infrastructure include the installation of gross pollutant traps, soil amendments, biofilters, bio retention basins and river foreshore rehabilitation.



Matt GrimblyMatt Grimbly - Canning River Restoration Officer
Matt's role involves the eradication, education and control of Weeds of National Significance (e.g. Blackberry, Willows, Boneseed), protection and enhancement of TEC’s and the restoration of the Canning River. This role is funded by the Australian Government’s Caring for Our Country Program via the Perth Region NRM.

 


Jose AlcalaJose Alcala – Financial Administration Officer
Jose manages SERCUL’s human resources and IT and assists with the finances, administration and everyday running of the SERCUL office. Jose is also responsible for the finances of the Bannister Creek Catchment Group and the Two Rivers Catchment Group.

 

 

Amy WarnerAmy Warner - City of Canning Landcare Officer
Amy’s role is to develop and manage community based restoration projects in the City of Canning. Current projects are the restoration of Hawkesbury Lakes & Vellgrove Avenue waterway, Bannister Creek Living Stream and Lynwood SHS Harmony Gardens. Amy works closely with the Bannister Creek Catchment Group assisting with restoration and volunteer support.  Amy also manages the Chevron-CVA project.



Ditte StrebelDitte Strebel - Restoration Project Officer and Analyst
Ditte’s role involves the development of a system for recording project and scientific data, providing GIS guidance, supervision and training, and assisting with the UWR and other onground projects.

 



Deb TabordaDebra Taborda - Environmental Education Officer
Deb's role with SERCUL is to assist in the delivery of the Phosphorus Awareness Project by presenting to school students and helping to coordinate community events. Deb is also aligning our current school programs to the National Curriculum Science document and the National Sustainability Curriculum Framework. Deb is also developing year-specific packages of pre and post SERCUL visit activities that will allow for integration of these programs into classroom units.

 

Alice AtkinsonAlice Atkinson - Landcare Project Officer
Alice’s main role is to deliver onground management actions with coordination and supervision of local community volunteers and casual landcare workers. Alice will be devising comprehensive work plans for currently funded projects and maintenance of previous projects.



John MaliunasJohn Maliunas - Landcare Officer, Shed & Vehicle Fleet Manager
John works on site at the Yulebrook Homestead as a Landcare Officer managing the Beckenham Open Space.  John has worked full time since 2009, after initially starting as a volunteer.  John is also responsible for managing the shed, equipment and the fleet of cars.  John is also a handyman and is passionate about weeding and landcare.



Crystal McIvorCrystal Gillam - Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group Coordinator
Crystal works within the Cities of Armadale and Gosnells in the catchment area of the Upper Canning Southern Wungong Catchment.

Her role is to address the aims and objectives of the Upper-Canning Southern-Wungong Management Plan. This work is undertaken with contributions of various community groups, local council and government agencies. In turn, Crystal's role is to provide support services and assist in the coordination of these efforts in achieving the objectives of the management plan. Mobile: 0412 713 582

Community River Restoration Officer
