Two
Rivers Catchment Group (TRCG)
The Two Rivers Catchment Group operates over a large
area from Kalamunda, through Belmont and to the Canning Plains area
on the northern side of the Canning River. We are an integrated
catchment body that allows the community to protect and preserve
natural environments.
TRCG
Constitution
We are presently undertaking a number of exciting
nutrient reduction projects including the Liege Street Wetland in
Cannington, Woodlupine Brook in Wattle Grove, Garvey Park in Redcliffe
and Tomato Lake in Belmont.

Liege Street Demonstration Wetland, Cannington
The Liege St Wetland is a constructed wetland
that covers a 530 hectare catchment and receives stormwater from
the Liege St and Cockram St Main Drains. Previously a straight open
drainage channel with poor water quality that drained directly into
the Canning River, the site now mimics a natural wetland with improved
water quality and habitat value and provides passive recreation
and educational opportunities for the local community.
The project uses native sedges and other native plants
planted in a series of wetlands to reduce the nutrients entering
the Canning River. This project is a joint partnership between the
Two Rivers Catchment Group, the Swan River Trust, Department of
Environment and Conservation, City of Canning, Water Corporation
and the South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare.
