Board Member
Lawrence was born in East Malaysia, on the island of Borneo, one of the world’s most biodiverse regions. As a child, he witnessed habitat destruction due to logging and farming activities, which sowed his interest in ecological preservation and rehabilitation.
Lawrence is a research scientist with a PhD from the University of Western Australia. His academic journey provided him with a solid foundation in scientific research, equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle complex ecological challenges. His career has seen him contribute to various impactful projects, from developing innovative solutions in the MedTech industry to educating the next generation of scientists and working with not-for-profits to promote scientific research.
Lawrence was elected to the SERCUL Board in October 2024.
Lawrence and his young family now call Perth their home, where they enjoy the vibrant community and natural beauty of Western Australia.
