Australian Association for Environmental Education WA (AAEEWA) Education Officer

One year contract position
Part time (17.5 hours per week) with the ability to work additional hours as needed
Location: Based at the City of Cockburn and the southern suburbs of Perth.

The South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare (SERCUL) is seeking a highly motivated person with at least three years of experience in the development and delivery of environmental education in Western Australia to continue the Little Green Steps WA and WasteSorted Schools in the Southern Suburbs programs. The primary purpose is to promote education for sustainability (EfS) and waste minimisation practices in the early years’ and schools sectors.  This position is funded by the WA Chapter of the Australian Association for Environmental Education through partnerships with the City of Cockburn and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation. SERCUL is the employer and provides human resource management for this position.

The Education Officer will educate the early years sector community through professional development opportunities for practitioners and carers to assist with embedding EfS into their practice as required by the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia. They will be required to develop and facilitate networks of support and available resources to enable projects to be planned and implemented within the City of Cockburn. They will also educate primary and high school students and support school staff in waste minimisation practices at schools in the southern suburbs of Perth.

The position attracts a salary of $72,150 per annum (pro-rata) plus superannuation and a travel and phone allowance.
