    Gardening Workshops

    Your Garden with Josh Byrne is a free workshop series providing Perth residents with the ideas and inspiration to create a successful garden while doing your bit to help the Swan and Canning rivers. Delivered by ABC TV’s Gardening Australia presenter and environmental scientist Josh Byrne, you will be provided with a personalised garden plan that keeps your garden thriving and our rivers healthy.

    Supported by Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ (DBCA) River Guardians program and Water Corporation’s Waterwise program, these two-hour workshops showcase the latest ideas in environmentally-friendly gardening and provide participants with the practical information needed to get the best results from their garden.

    Bungendore Park Walk Trails Opening and Guided Walks

    On behalf of the City of Armadale , we would like invite you to the

    Bungendore Park Walk Trails Opening and Guided Walks

    Saturday 22 June 2019
    1.30 pm Bungendore Park, Admiral Rd, Bedfordale
    Entrance to the park can be made from the Eastern boundary of the park off Admiral Road

    Join the City of Armadale and the Bungendore Park Environment Group for the opening of the newly installed walk trail system at Bungendore.

    There are 5 new looped walking trails in the Park ranging from 1.7k to 7.7km, suitable for most ages and fitness levels.

    Three guided bushwalks will commence from the Parks’ Admiral Road entrance at 1.30 pm on Saturday 22 June 2019. There are three options to choose from on the day;

    • Cockatoo Circuit (30 minutes)
    • Spinebill Stroll (45 mins)
    • Robin Ramble (1hr)

    Visitors can follow the new colour coded walk trail markers, and discover new interpretive signs which offer a host of information on the Park, its history and flora and fauna. Bungendore Park is situated on the edge of the Darling Scarp, with sweeping views to the Swan Coastal Plain. It is located three kms south-east of Armadale and can be accessed from Admiral Road. The Bungendore Park Environmental Group is a community based group that assists the City to manage the park.

    Friends of Queens Park's Planting Day

    This will be the Friends of Queens Park’s first planting session for the season. We’ll have about 2,500 plants to put in the ground so please bring all of the friends and relatives you can find.

    Meet at 9.00am, Sunday 30 June, on the grassed area on Wharf St, near the intersection with Welshpool Rd, see map link below.  All tools, gloves and morning tea will be provided.

    The City of Canning’s Natural Areas Team will be working with us on the day but we still need your help to make it all happen.
