    Community governance of green space
    The Key Ingredients for Success

    New research from Dr Jen George provides compelling insights as to why community governance for green infrastructure is worth considering and how it can work.
    In this presentation Jen will discuss her research findings and practical insights on several leading examples of community governance models from across Australia, including Western Australia’s own Bibbulmun Track, outlining the pros and cons of the community governance approach.
    Jen is a “pracademic” and did this research at Curtin University between 2013 – 2018. Jen runs a strategic Research Consultancy called Comcorp and is an Adjunct Fellow at Macquarie University, Sydney.

    Who should attend?: Decision-makers and enthusiasts from community organisations, government and private industries that are interested in partnerships to manage green spaces.
    When: Thursday, 5th March 2020. 3pm to 5pm

    Something to Squawk About!!

    Join local bird enthusiasts Rachel and Mike Green for an interactive workshop about birds in the City of Armadale.
    Learn how to identify local birds by their unique features and calls, and how to encourage them into your back yard using bird attracting native plants, bird baths and bird perches.
    If you have a bird book bring it along to practice your identification skills throughout the workshop.

    Doors open 9.15am for registration. Workshop commences 9.30am.

    Bookings are essential for catering purposes and spaces are limited.

    Community and Conservation Day

    Friends of Bull Creek Catchment Community and Conservation Day

    Friends of Bull Creek Catchment and SERCUL are holding a Community and Conservation BBQ on Sunday, 15 March in Brockman Park in Bull Creek.  It will be an information session for residents about the impact and achievements of grant funded work done in the creek over the last nine years.  FoBCC is always looking for new volunteers;  take this opportunity to meet them and see what they do.  Come along between 11 am and 12 noon for a walk along the creek.  Stay for a sausage, a cuppa and a chat from 12 noon to 1.30 pm.
