 Testimonials

This book is for everyone who has an interest in nature and conservation with a will to save our wonderful bird species from further decline in urban areas. It is a pure joy to read. Our gardens can be the corridors that support fauna that is being squeezed out of urban areas and offer a place to breed, feed and bring joy into our lives – Sabrina Hahn

Dan Carter’s insights into the behaviour of birds are fascinating and the photographs are truly amazing …. This book will now be my go-to guide in the garden in my own home, making sure the plants I choose will not only beautify my home, but also create a welcoming habitat for our native bird population – Hon Hannah Beazley MLA

Jirdarup Bushland is the environmental jewel in the Town of Victoria Park’s crown, and we are proud to be its current custodians alongside the Friends of Jirdarup Bushland. Jirdarup means “Place of Birds” in Noongar, and this book demonstrates why that name is so apt. The photographs are simply stunning. Kudos to the talented local photographers for transporting us to the Bushland and beguiling the reader from the first page to the last. What a beautiful, informative and inspiring showcase of the unique bird species that call the Jirdarup their home – Mayor Karen Vernon
