Cat Williams

Community Landcare Manager

Born and raised in the UK, Cat studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering,  eventually working her way to managing control system refits for ships and submarines of the British Royal Navy. After taking time out to travel Europe and Australia, she decided to stay and made a somewhat radical career change. In 2007, Cat completed a Diploma in Conservation and Land Management in Perth, merging her love of the Australian outdoors with her strong project management skills.

Cat spent over ten years with the not-for-profit environmental group APACE WA, before joining SERCUL in 2017 as Canning Community Landcare Officer. After a short stint working with the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council to further extend her experience, Cat returned to SERCUL in the Community Landcare Manager role in June 2020.

“I love working with the SERCUL team and share their united passion of looking after our special environment. We are so blessed to have amazing natural areas not just at the periphery of the Perth Metro, but amongst our most urban environs.  I enjoy working with community and relish the opportunity to work alongside people with many decades of personal knowledge and connection to their local bushlands. In my spare time I spend as much time as possible walking and riding our great bush trails, and am myself a volunteer with Roleybushcare and Friends of Banyowla RP.”
